The Cambridge Folk Festival continues to educate, entertain and delight folk fans.

One of this year’s highlights was the last song of all: Imelda May singing a loving and lovely rendition of “nothing compares to you” in a heartfelt and entirely fitting tribute to Sinead O’Connor. It was one of those magical moments when music brings people together as they all share, and express, a deep emotion.
The festival organisers have been hard at work. They have been given and ‘Outstanding’ award at the A Greener Festival awards for the 2022 festival, and we are sure 2023 will do just as well.
This years Christian Raphael prize, for emerging talent in the folk music word, went to Frankie Archer. Frankie combines the Northumbrian fiddle music of her tradition with electronics and her voice.
